Heavy-Duty Face Grooving and Turning Blades for CUT-GRIP Inserts

Face machining under severe conditions is now possible with ISCAR's new CGFG blades utilizing DO-GRIP clamping and CUT-GRIP inserts. The self-clamping system controls the clamping forces, allowing for minimized blade width. These blades also eliminate the need for spare parts and simplify insert replacement. The CGFG blades cover a wide range of face grooving and trepanning applications, such as those required on larger rotors, turbines, motors, fans, tubes, reactors, and similar products.
All blades are made of a high quality tool steel. Each size is designed for a specified face groove diameter range and a maximum depth of cut. The blades are available in right- and left-hand design. The face groove diameters that may be machined with these heavy-duty blades range from 180 to 700 mm (7.09 to 27.56") divided into four tool sizes. Maximum groove depth is 70 mm (2.76") for the smallest diameter range blade and 100 mm (3.94") for the largest.
After the initial groove is machined within the recommended diameter range, an unlimited widening by face grooving and side turning is possible in either direction - toward and away from center. The CUT-GRIP inserts are single-ended and square with small corner radii or in full radius for face profiling. A variety of chipformers are available for machining different materials.
For heavy-duty applications, the GIMY 808 insert is recommended. For applications with lower feeds, the new GIMF 808 insert with two elongated chipformer ribs is preferred. And for full-radius grooves or profiling, the Daisy-type GIMY 840 is an excellent choice. Insert replacement is accomplished with the EDG-44A eccentric extractor.
CGFG blades can be mounted on all ISCAR heavy-duty tool blocks, including types SGTBN, SGTBU, and SGTBK with a 52.6 mm (2.07") blade height. These new CGFG blades enhance the range of face grooving and trepanning applications that can be performed with ISCAR CUT-GRIP inserts.
