CUT-GRIP Inserts
A Better Solution for Turning and Grooving on Cast Iron are the New CUT-GRIP GIA Inserts From ISCAR
These inserts are produced with a flat rake face and without a chipformer for longer tool life and high performance while machining hard and wear-accelerating materials. The cutting edges are reinforced by a negative K-land to better resist cutting forces, impacts and carbide inclusions existing under all machining conditions, including interrupted cuts. The standard grade, IC428, has a CVD Al

coating and is recommended for machining all cast iron compositions.
These new GIA inserts are available in sizes ranging from 3 to 8 mm (.118 to .315"). Blanks designated GIAS for Tailor-Made shapes are available in the uncoated grades IC20 and IC54 in the same width range, in increments of 1 mm (.039"). GIA inserts and GIAS blanks may be clamped on all CUT-GRIP holders, blades, adaptors and special tools with the corresponding seat sizes.
