ISCAR’s successful HELIDO 490-17 family line includes:
H490 ANKX 1706PNTR-CS (Chip Splitting)
The insert features serrated cutting edges and can be used on any HELIDO H490-17 tool.
It is most efficient when used on extended flute and endmill cutters for deep shouldering and slotting operations.

The H490 ANKX 1706PNTR-CS insert splits the chips into narrow strips which result in:
● Approximately 15% lower power consumption.
● Higher output from low power machines and unstable spindles.
● Improved chip transfer and evacuation.
● Excellent vibration dampening in large depth of cut applications and
   unstable systems (clamping,machine rigidity, long overhang, etc.)

The inserts have 3 splitting grooves on one cutting edge and 2 on the opposite side. It is recommended to mount the inserts in alternating edge configuration on adjacent cutter flutes,to achieve the most effective chip splitting. Therefore, these inserts function most effectively on cutters with an even number of flutes, but they can be used on cutters with an uneven number of flutes as well.

The new HELIDO 490-17 chip splitting insert is available in IC830 carbide grade - the most advanced ISCAR SUMO TEC tough grade for high productivity. The maximum feed per tooth for chip splitting effect is up to 0.22 mm/t.

H490 ANKX 1706PNTR-CS provides a substantial advantage over regular-edged inserts in heavy applications.
