  All “general” turning applications cannot be done with a single chipformer! ISCAR presents three chipformers to optimize cutting performance for “general” applications. The chipformer best suited for each application depends on the material being cut and the fixture rigidity of the application (i.e.continuous cutting,interrupted cuts,etc.). It is important to minimize the cutting temperature - the prime cause of crater wear and reduced performance - while utilizing a cutting edge which is sufficiently strong to avoid tool breakage.
