OFMW 0706R10-FF - A Combination for Fast and Economical Face Milling
ISCAR is introducing a revolutionary insert, expanding both the HELIOCTO and the FEEDMILL families.
The OFMW 0706R10-FF insert has eight FEEDMILL large radii segmented cutting edges. The FF OFMW 0706R10 insert does not require any new tools.
It can be clamped on the standard HELIOCTO HOF tools after removing their seats.
The new insert is another option for the HELIOCTO milling cutters which already use the octagonal OF.. 0706/07T3 and the round
RF.. 19… inserts.
The HOF cutters, when used with OFMW 0706R10-FF inserts at small depths of cut, can run at extremely high table feeds.
For example: at 0.5 mm DOC, a 3 mm feed per tooth can be applied.
The tool life under the above-mentioned cutting parameters is remarkably high (see attached DOC vs. feed application range data).
As with the other FEEDMILL tools, the resultant force exerted on the tool is directed axially towards the spindle.
This feature enables using the tools for very high metal removal rates even on small to medium machines, or on less rigidly clamped parts.
