SUMO-GRIP Tangential Single Ended Inserts for Heavy Duty Grooving and Turning

ISCAR’s new single-ended insert for heavy duty grooving and turning is an extension of the very successful TANG-GRIP family. The unique clamping method combined with the absence of the upper jaw makes the SUMO-GRIP a winning product, featuring excellent performance in both grooving & side turning.
The new TAGB inserts are available in widths of 8, 10 and 12 mm, with full radius and straight frontal edges with a 0.8 mm corner radius. The TAGB inserts are available in the most advanced SUMO TEC grades IC808 and IC8250.
The inserts feature the very successful Y-type chipformer that was re-engineered to provide better performance.
The 12 mm round inserts are available with the Y-type chipformer and in addition, an H-type chipformer with a negative T-land for machining heavy interrupted applications and cast iron parts.
The new family also includes 8 mm, full radius TAGBA 80-40 inserts designed for machining aluminum and TAGBA 80-40YZ for machining ductile aluminum.
Both inserts are available in grade IC07.

Advantages
● The unique tangential clamping system provides excellent resistance    to side forces.
● Very strong insert design enables side turning in feed rates of up to    1.0 mm/rev.
● The TAGB is a much more durable insert, compared to RCMT round    ISO standard inserts that feature similar radius values.
